Thermage and Density are devices that use 6.78 MHz radiofrequency energy to provide lifting and overall skin-improving effects. Because patients can experience a lifting effect without any downtime, these treatments are very popular. However, there are some important points to keep in mind. If sagging is mainly caused by excessive subcutaneous fat, the effects of Thermage or Density may be limited. Likewise, if skin laxity is very severe, the results may not be very noticeable. In such cases, a procedure to permanently reduce subcutaneous fat or another treatment aimed at improving skin elasticity may be necessary. Patients with an implanted cardiac pacemaker are not eligible for this procedure.
